Forming has been installed

Things are moving along nicely. There has been a team on site for the past few days putting the forming in.

When I walked round the ground floor rooms it gives a better perspective of what it's going to look like.

Scaffolding has arrived

The scaffolding arrived on site yesterday and a team put it up today. Looks like the 1st floor slab will be laid quite soon.

Our first hiccup

During our last meeting we had noticed an error on the plans - the outdoor shower was on the back corner of the house instead of the side wall.

I asked for it to be changed but it wasn't and it slipped through unchanged. So now the shower is on the back wall. Not a big thing but annoying all the same.

Still, onwards and upwards.

Ground floor brickwork complete - in 1 week!!

OMG - what a surprise.

All the walls, doors and windows are in downstairs :-)

Stairway cavity is there and all it needs is the stairs.

Racing on!

I can't believe how much is getting done in one day! The laundry and the downstairs shower room have 3 walls and a doorway.

The coat cupboard is done and the internal windows in the theatre have been fitted.

(photos not uploading for some reason - will try later)

Our first internal door

The study, which is at the front of the house, has had it's door fitted. I must admit it looks slightly bigger than it looked before - but it still only takes two steps to get from one side of the room to the other.

The support for the upper floor in the kitchen (at the end of the island) has been done and makes the room dimensions much easier to visualise.

Great progress

The supports for the upper floor have been put in and the walls are flying up. The front door surround is done and the porch is looking great.

The supports for the alfresco area at the back have been started.

Wow - all in one day.

Well they certainly worked hard on Friday. Most of the periphery walls on the ground floor are up to window height. Unfortunately there is no change, the house still looks tiny :-(

The brickies have started!

Ok - so only one line of bricks but it's a start.
