Carpets and Built-in wardrobes

There's been a bit of an overlap - not my fault as the carpet layer did his back in. The skirting boards are finished and the floor has been sealed.

We're now in the final weeks if finishing off. We need to be out of this house by 31st March so things are starting to get a bit tight.

I have learned how to put up wallpaper. I did a wall in each if the girls and then handed the rest over to the professionals! Thanks to tips from YouTube and Richard the walls turned out as well as could be expected from a newbie.





Dirk came in this week and did the skirting boards and the first if the other three walls. It looks ver dramatic but I think the house needs it as everywhere you look is white, white and more white. Can't wait to see the boys' wallpaper hung.






The tiles for the floor have at last arrived after a few tense weeks. They are being laid on Monday through till Friday.



The pool people were her to back fill the sand (no earth here) round the concrete pool.

The pool has begun. The 'older' man on his lonesome. Felt quite sorry for him but he seems to know what he's doing.













The shutters are nice. There are a couple of nicks in the paintwork that they're coming back to fix but apart from that they look great.

It's all ours!

It's now been a few weeks since we got the keys and we've had loads if tradesmen through measuring up and quoting.

The painting has been done - the whole house is white apart from the study and the theatre room, they're a light coffee colour.

The skirting boards are getting started this week, the air con is being installed, shutters installed and the pool is being dug.

When we went round last night to find that the excavator had been.

Pre-handover Inspection was completed a week ago. Nothing major just a few chips here and there.

Getting keys on Friday!

It's been a while!

Builders' holidays finished last Monday so work started on the house again.

Handles to all the doors were fitted and mirrors that I thought looked dodgy are getting changed.

The electricians have been back to finish the downlights in the cement ceiling - major hassle!!

Cleaners were in, but not sure how much they got done.

So I've now started to get all the trades booked in for after the handover which should hopefully be 1st Feb! The carpets are ready, painters ready, fence installer, soakwells and the pool installer - can't wait to get it all done and dusted!!
